
Jiaoyang Li is a music educator and active performer of solo and chamber music. She is currently a DMA candidate in piano performance at The University of Oklahoma, where she studies with American-Korean Pianist Dr. Jeongwon Ham. Ms. Li also holds a Master of Music (piano performance) and a Graduate Performance Certificate from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance from Shenyang Conservatory of Music, China. She also has served as an accompanist for university recitals and concerts for more than 6 years.
Ms. Li recorded her first album, “Ampersand,” with the Ohio University Wind Symphony, conducted by Andrew Trachsel, the Conductor of the North Texas Symphony band. The CD was published globally by New York Edward B. Marks Music Company in December 2018. The world premiere of the music by Wolfmen, Turner, David Maslanka was included in this CD. She also has performed live concerts with the band multiple times in Columbus, Cleveland, and many other cities. Ms. Li was also a visiting artist at the Paris International University in France, 2019.
As a music educator, she served as piano faculty at Athens Community Music School, Harbin International Summer Music Festival in China, San Francisco Stanislaus International Music Festival, and Ohio University Summer Piano Camp.
Ms. Li is a passionate and patient teacher, she believes music always bring inspiration to people‘s life. Every student could have different goals and purposes through learning or playing the piano, and everyone can benefit from music learning. Ms. Li hopes to help her students explore their own paths of learning and interpretation. Ms. Li speaks both Mandarin Chinese and English.
