Moon School of Music is a contemporary music school and a community striving for higher standards in music education with care and dedication to students of all ages and levels. With exceptional accountability and tracking of student growth, our goal is to foster a place of musical learning where excellence and inspiration are an expected outcome.
Expectation of Excellence
We strive for higher standards and embody excellence and dedication. While each student’s journey and abilities may differ, we encourage each individual to pursue their best and grow through consistent efforts and hard work.
Commitment
Mastering music requires time, effort, and resilience. Parents and guardians play a key role in supporting their child’s commitment to learning, including embracing challenges and occasional setbacks. Success in music is a journey that requires dedication from both students and their fa.
Kindness and Respect
Music comes from the heart and flourishes in an environment of kindness and respect. Students often learn by observing those around them, including teachers, peers, parents, and guardians. Let’s work together to create a community that embodies these values.
Communication
Open communication is vital to a successful learning experience. We encourage parents to contact teachers regularly to monitor progress, ask questions, and share concerns. Together, we can effectively address challenges and ensure your child’s success.
Accountability
We believe accountability is essential to growth and a shared responsibility between teachers, students, and parents. To support this, we ask that:

MAKEUP POLICY
Makeup Credit Eligibility
To receive a makeup credit, you must reschedule the lesson in Opus1 at least 6 hours before your lesson. The credit must be used within 30 days from the original date of the lesson. Any unused makeup credits will be lost.
Time/Teacher Not Guaranteed
The rescheduling of the lesson is not guaranteed with the same instructor or at the student’s desired time. If a desired time with the same instructor cannot be found, the lesson must be scheduled with other instructors or times.
Limits
There is no limit to the number of lessons that can be rescheduled. However, if more than four consecutive lessons are rescheduled, the student will be withdrawn from the program unless lessons are made up prior to the break.
Makeup Lessons in Smaller Increments
If availability allows, makeup lessons can be divided into smaller increments (e.g., 15 minutes) and added before or after a lesson. Contact the office to arrange this.
Student/Parent Responsibility
It is the responsibility of the student, parent, or guardian to track and reschedule makeup lessons. Opus1 provides information on makeup credits and their expiration dates.
The school is not responsible for sending reminders regarding expired lessons.
Sickness
Any last-minute cancellations due to student sickness follow the same policy, with no makeup lesson provided. We encourage students to contact the school and join the lesson online to avoid losing the lesson.
Teacher Tardiness
If the lesson is delayed by less than 10 minutes, it will run over time and be made up at the end of class. If it is delayed by more than 10 minutes, students are entitled to receive a makeup lesson. Students/Parents must notify the office after the lesson, and a makeup credit will be given.
Teacher Cancellation
If staff cancels with less than 6 hours’ notice, students will be offered a makeup credit or a refund for the missed session.
